These upgrades are designed to enhance performance and extend the life of the controller to give it a large advantage over its original counterpart. Adopted by many professionals as the must-have option for accuracy and control, Magneto Mechs are a custom retrofit that incorporates superior TMR sensors into the original thumbstick mechanism of the controller. They provide more stable performance and reduced thumbstick drift compared to the original carbon potentiometer-based or Hall Effect thumbstick mechanisms. SmartPad controllers also come with Battle Beaver's patented Smart Triggers & Smart Bumpers. The Triggers and Bumpers have been improved by converting the traditional squish or pull of these inputs to an instant 100% activation "click" that feels identical to a computer mouse.

SmartPads additionally have converted Smart Face Buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, Square) and D-Pad for separate digital inputs utilizing the same 'clicks' in the Triggers and Bumpers.
